Mirror Modifier
Create symmetrical SDF shapes by mirroring across one or more axes. Includes optional blending at the mirror seam.
Basic Usage
- Select a Chisel object
- Add a Mirror modifier via the Modifier panel or Pie Menu
- Toggle the axes you want to mirror across (X, Y, Z)
- Optionally adjust Blend Radius to smooth the seam
Parameters
Mirror Axes
- X / Y / Z: Independent toggles for each axis
- Default: X enabled
- Effect: Mirrors the shape across the selected axes
Flip
- X / Y / Z: Independent flip toggles per axis
- Effect: Reverses the mirroring direction
Bisect
- Always enabled on all axes
- Effect: Cuts the shape at the mirror plane (prevents overlap)
Blend Radius
- Description: Smooth fillet radius at the mirror seam
- Range: 0.0 to 2.0 (soft max 0.5)
- Default: 0.0
- Effect: 0 = sharp seam, higher = smooth transition at the mirror plane
Mirror Smooth
A modal operator for interactively adjusting the mirror blend radius. Accessible from the Pie Menu (Q > South > Mirror Smooth).
- Drag to adjust the blend radius in real-time
- Provides immediate visual feedback of the smooth mirror seam
