Mirror Modifier

Create symmetrical SDF shapes by mirroring across one or more axes. Includes optional blending at the mirror seam.

Basic Usage

  1. Select a Chisel object
  2. Add a Mirror modifier via the Modifier panel or Pie Menu
  3. Toggle the axes you want to mirror across (X, Y, Z)
  4. Optionally adjust Blend Radius to smooth the seam

Parameters

Mirror Axes

  • X / Y / Z: Independent toggles for each axis
  • Default: X enabled
  • Effect: Mirrors the shape across the selected axes

Flip

  • X / Y / Z: Independent flip toggles per axis
  • Effect: Reverses the mirroring direction

Bisect

  • Always enabled on all axes
  • Effect: Cuts the shape at the mirror plane (prevents overlap)

Blend Radius

  • Description: Smooth fillet radius at the mirror seam
  • Range: 0.0 to 2.0 (soft max 0.5)
  • Default: 0.0
  • Effect: 0 = sharp seam, higher = smooth transition at the mirror plane
