Linear Profile

The Linear profile (L1 norm) creates a flat 45-degree chamfer on primitive edges. An additional Chamfer Smooth parameter can soften the sharp transitions.

Basic Usage

  1. Select a Chisel object that supports rounding
  2. In the Object Properties panel, set Profile to Linear
  3. Increase the Rounding value for the chamfer width
  4. Optionally increase Chamfer Smooth to soften the edges

Characteristics

  • Flat 45-degree bevel at edges
  • Sharp, geometric appearance
  • Corner geometry forms triangular facets
  • Can be softened with Chamfer Smooth for a hybrid look

Parameters

Rounding

  • Range: 0.0 to 10.0 (soft max 2.0)
  • Default: 0.0
  • Effect: Width of the flat chamfer

Chamfer Smooth

  • Description: Softens the sharp edges where the chamfer meets the surfaces
  • Range: 0.0 to 5.0 (soft max 0.5)
  • Default: 0.0
  • Effect: 0 = sharp chamfer, higher = rounder transitions
