Smooth Blend

The Smooth blend profile (L4 norm) creates a super-ellipse fillet with tighter knee transitions than Sphere. Uses smoothstep remapping for refined control.

Basic Usage

  1. Add a Boolean modifier to a Chisel object
  2. Set Blend Profile to Smooth
  3. Increase Blend Radius

Characteristics

  • Super-ellipse (L4) cross-section with smoothstep remapping
  • Tighter knees where the fillet meets the flat surfaces
  • More controlled, mechanical appearance
  • Peak displacement = radius/4

Parameters

Blend Radius

  • Range: 0.0 to 2.0 (soft max 1.0)
  • Default: 0.0
  • Effect: Width of the super-ellipse fillet
