Soft Profile

The Soft profile uses an L3 norm with C2 continuity for a gentle, smooth blend between the flat surface and the fillet. The transition is gradual, producing an organic appearance.

Basic Usage

  1. Select a Chisel object that supports rounding (Box, Cylinder, etc.)
  2. In the Object Properties panel, set Profile to Soft
  3. Increase the Rounding value to see the effect

Characteristics

  • L3 norm cross-section with C2 continuity
  • Gentle, gradual transition from flat surfaces to rounded edge
  • Produces an organic, pillowy appearance
  • Good for consumer-product and soft-surface aesthetics

Parameters

Rounding

  • Range: 0.0 to 10.0 (soft max 2.0)
  • Default: 0.0
  • Effect: Radius of the soft fillet
